Justin’s Cinnamon Apple Almond Baked Doughnuts

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/3 cup melted butter or avocado oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups maple sugar
  • 1 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 tablespoons Justin’s Cinnamon Almond Butter
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • Optional: cinnamon sugar, to coat

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease two standard-sized doughnut pans and set aside
  2. Beat together the butter or oil, eggs, sugar, applesauce, almond butter, vanilla, cinnamon, salt, and baking powder. Stir in the flour until just combined.
  3. Pour about 1/4 cup batter into the doughnut pans so it’s nearly to the top.
  4. Bake 15-18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Remove the doughnuts from the oven, and cool about 5 minutes, before transferring to a wire rack. While still warm, gently dip each doughnut in a bowl of cinnamon sugar to coat. Enjoy!
