FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

JUSTIN’S® Certified Organic nut butter cups are free of preservatives and hydrogenated oils, which makes them more sensitive to temperature changes. Drastic changes during shipping, handling, and storage can cause the chocolate to discolor and the nut butter to dry out. We recommend storing nut butter cups below 65°F and away from heat or direct sunlight. Bloomed cups are still safe to consume and there have been no recipe changes.

If you come across dry nut butter cups, please share the purchase location, best by date, and lot code so we can work with our retail partners to prevent this in the future.

Palm oil is a Non-GMO, non-hydrogenated oil that acts as a stabilizer and reduces oil separation — so you don’t have to stir as much! JUSTIN’S® is a member of the RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm), which promotes sustainable growing practices and human rights initiatives. Our Certified Organic palm oil in nut butter cups is sourced from Central and South America under a fully traceable supply chain model.

Our nut butters should always be creamy and delicious. If yours is unusually dry, note the best by date and pick up a jar from a different batch next time. We’d love to hear from you if this happens so we can address it!

What you’re seeing is called cocoa bloom — this occurs naturally when cocoa butter separates, solidifies, and rises to the surface. It is not a food safety hazard and the product is still safe to eat.

Yes! All JUSTIN’S® products are certified gluten free by the GFCO (Gluten-Free Certification Organization), with certification stamps clearly displayed on packaging.
