INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4.5 ounces JUSTIN’S® Chocolate Candy Pieces
  • Flaky salt (optional)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Cook, stirring occasionally, until golden and brown bits begin to form. Remove from heat and cool 10 minutes.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the browned butter and brown sugar. Whisk in the egg and vanilla. Add the flour, baking soda, and salt, and stir until just combined. Fold in the Pieces.
  4. Transfer dough to a 8-inch by 8-inch baking pan and press into an even layer. Bake 25 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and cool 10 minutes before slicing into 9 squares.
